Tutorial: Create and Publish Articles on Blinko News

Objective of the tutorial:

This tutorial is designed to support authors registered on the Blinko News site in the creation and publication of articles. By following the instructions provided, authors will be able to understand the process of writing articles on the Blinko News WordPress platform.

The main goal is to help authors master the Blinko News article writing interface so that they can produce and publish quality content independently. This tutorial aims to provide clear and practical instructions, thus facilitating the contribution of authors to the diversity and editorial richness of the Blinko News site.

1- Access to the article creation interface

  1. Log in to your Blinko News account using your credentials.
  2. Once logged in, go to the “Welcome” section in the left menu of your dashboard.
  3. Click on “Edit your articles”. You will be redirected to your article administration page.
  4. Once on the article administration page, click on “Add an article”.
  5. You are now on the article creation page. You can start writing your article content.

2 - Creation of the article: fill in the necessary fields

Once on the article creation page, you will find several fields to fill in to structure your content:

2-1: Title field:

Enter the title of your article here. Make sure it is catchy and relevant to grab readers’ attention.

2-2: First Part Text Field:

In this field, enter the main content of the first part of your article. This is where you will introduce your topic and lay out the main points you want to make.

2-3: Article Media Field (Image and Link):

Add a relevant image to accompany your article. Click the download button to select an image from your computer.

To maintain a consistent appearance across our site, please note that adding an image is mandatory when creating an article. No article publication can be made without an associated image.

In addition, please respect the recommended image size: Minimum 760×450 pixels and Maximum 1920×1137 pixels.

Additionally, you have the option to include a link from your YouTube or Vimeo video to your article.

2-3-1 : How to Embed YouTube and Vimeo Videos in Your Articles :

How to embed a YouTube or Vimeo video in the article field on our website. Follow these simple steps:

 

1. Go to YouTube or Vimeo and select the video you want to embed.

 

2. Once you’ve selected the video, click on the “Share” button, then on “Embed”. A small window will appear, displaying the embed code.

 

3. In our case, we don’t need the entire code, but only the video URL. To do this:

 

    a. Copy the embed code provided into a text editor (Notepad, Word, etc.).

 

    b. Locate the URL inside the quotation marks after “src=”. For example, in the following code:

4. Paste this URL into the video field of the article on our site, and that’s it!

 

The same method applies to Vimeo.

 

With these simple steps, you’ll be able to embed your YouTube or Vimeo videos into your articles in no time.

2-4: Second Part Text Field:

Use this field to add more content to your article. If you find that the text in the first part is a bit long, you can split it and put part 2 in this field.

2-5: Category Choice Field:

Select the category you want to associate your article with. Choose a relevant category that matches the topic and content of your article.

3 - Revision and Publication

3-1: Revision:

Once you have finished writing your article, it is important to revise it carefully before publishing it.

Take the time to proofread your article carefully to correct spelling, grammar and syntax errors. Make sure the content is clear, coherent and well structured.

Use the preview feature to see how your article will appear on Blinko News once published. Check the layout, image size and overall presentation of your content.

3-2: Publication of the article:

Once you are happy with your article, click the “Publish” button to have it published. Your article is now awaiting review by a Blinko News administrator! Once approved, your article will be published on the site!
