Lovehoney and Macmillan Partner to Break Taboos on Sexuality After Cancer

Macmillan and sexual wellness brand Lovehoney have joined forces to address the taboo surrounding sex and intimacy after a cancer diagnosis. They aim to raise awareness through a content series on YouTube featuring individuals sharing their experiences. The first story features 22-year-old Ellie. Macmillan’s data reveals that many cancer patients struggle with self-confidence and worries about their sex lives, yet only a fraction have received support for their concerns, highlighting the need for greater awareness and assistance in this area.

Lovehoney director James Rose emphasized the importance of sexual wellbeing for everyone, including cancer patients, highlighting the partnership with Macmillan to address this issue. Lovehoney will donate 10% of selected product sales to Macmillan during the campaign period to support their vital work. Tracey Palmer from Whittington Health NHS Trust emphasized the significant impact cancer can have on individuals’ lives, including their relationships and intimacy, underscoring the need for greater support and awareness in this area.
