The Ordinary’s Bold Move: Giant Bottle Takes a Float Down the Thames

Cosmetics brand The Ordinary has conducted an innovative campaign stunt by floating a giant bottle of its reformulated hyaluronic acid 2% +B5 product down the River Thames in Central London.

The 12-meter installation, transported on a branded boat, prompts viewers to question the concept of ‘real.’ Developed by One Agency, the activation passed prominent London landmarks such as Canary Wharf, The Shard, and the Tower of London.

The creative approach aims to engage and capture attention while conveying The Ordinary’s product reformulation.

“One Agency has executed the impossible, making our creative dreams come true,” said Bhav Rana, Head of Brand UK and Ireland at The Ordinary, regarding the innovative campaign stunt of floating a giant bottle down the River Thames.

The activation concluded dramatically at Tower Bridge, where the bridge had to be lifted due to the installation’s size.

To support the brand’s key creative, CGI work will also be launched across various global cities. Paul Butterworth, Operations Director at One Events, expressed fulfillment in being part of the instantly iconic activation, highlighting the success of the collaboration and the creation of a memorable campaign that showcased the strengths of both brands.
